About the Website
ImBleedingProfusely.com is named for a phrase commonly uttered jokingly on the Pagan Centered Podcast (PCP): “I’m Bleeding Profusely.”
There once lived a young bald-headed individual that was for the duration the crew of the podcast knew him was a stereotypical Gardnerian. His name was Barrett and he wore his robe and sandals everywhere, with nothing underneath. As a result he was curious as to why he was so cold in the winter and why people would give him weird looks at the local Wal-Mart.
One day Barrett was over at Amber’s (one of our regular podcasters) apartment. He left his athame on the couch on which he was sitting, and proceeded to sit back down on the couch. This led to his athame poking him in his buttocks, a funny facial expression followed by a long pause. Following the long pause, he uttered the first thing that came to mind which apparently was “I’m Bleeding Profusely!” – and it’s a story we all recall till this day.
Moral of the story, don’t sit on sharp objects, what you utter may become a dot-com.
What do we do on this website? It’s simply a place where hosts and devoted fans of the Pagan Centered Podcast can post their thoughts on the theology of Paganism, the Pagan community as well as other metaphysical topics. This website will contain material different from that of our podcast medium as the two mediums lend themselves better to different coverage of various topics. This isn’t a “print” version of a podcast, merely a companion website written in much the same sarcastic tone you come to expect from the podcast.
Oh and please don’t take us too seriously otherwise we will have to make fun of you.
About the Podcasts
The Pagan Centered Podcast (PCP) is an ongoing weekly 1 hour podcast featuring lighthearted Pagan discussion by average Pagans. We discuss contemporary topics as they relate to modern Paganism. Our panel features diverse Pagan theological backgrounds that come together in an always unexpected manner. The podcast enjoys a less than serious atmosphere with regards to otherwise serious issues.
We’re not here to bash, but we’re not here to be politically correct either. Our show prides itself on expressing our opinions without regard for political correctness. Coming from the background of Pagan groups that have been excessive in their political correctness to the point of censorship, our show incorporates a backlash against such aggressively friendly mindsets. While we are less than politically correct, we are not here to bash others either. We merely speak what is on our minds how it is on our minds, not having to filter it as a means to avoid offending people.
PCP started in April 2004 by the Pagan panelists of an interfaith podcast called “GIG Cast”. Initially the show was called the “Pagan Clarion Podcast.” However, this podcast has since expanded beyond local issues to broader topics in Paganism and is now called the “Pagan Centered Podcast.”
In 2007, we started our own spin-off called “The Pagan Comedy Minute” which was PG-rated versions of the skits performed for the Pagan Centered Podcast.
