Ego Stroking

  • Thanks to MMPP for having us on
    • Reflections of those episodes.
  • David Carron of Ravencast writes (regarding Episode 57):

The reality of any institution is that they work via generalities. As a result minority anythings (such as our tiny religion) gets the shaft.

That said, I have noticed a trend of PCP to poo poo all institutions and society in general. IMHO, there is no need to reject EVERYTHING. If we huddle > in the closet and spit on the world should we be surprised that folks look at us strangely?

Our best defense is good will. If we are a part of the community around us then we will not stand alone when it hits the fan.

BTW, a majority of what I do is Juvenile Law and I would be happy to help your guest with what I can. Please feel free to forward her my email.

Keep up the good work and I find your shows getting better as you keep to your topics.

Weekly Segments:

  • Site of the Week: The Ranting Gryphon - Contributed by Laura
  • For Further Listening (Podcast of the week):
    • Title of Show: Eclectic Pagan Podcast
    • Entertaining - “Keeps ya hooked” (/10): 8 - kept me interesting but I wasn’t particularly hooked
    • Educational - “Taught me something, got me thinking” (/10): 7 - reminded me of how much I get frustrated at mainstream Paganism
    • Audio Quality (/10): 8 - please… no echo on interviews!
    • Notes: I find myself disagreeing a lot with what is said on this podcast. I wont say these individuals are fluffy, because they’re not. For better or worse, they accurately portray the thoughts and opinions mainstream Paganism. While their program is also supposedly Pagan, it seems very Wiccan-centric. I’d be annoyed, but at the same time our in-house eclectic Pagan borrows a lot of Wiccan traditions while not being Wiccan.

Corrections:

  • It’s supposed to be ‘Plovers’ not ‘Clovers’
