I always find it woefully ironic that I'm Wiccan. I'm hardcore into honor and dislike much of what most Wiccans are (hippies, excessively open-minded, passive aggressive and the list goes on). However, the ideal of Balance has me hooked with Wicca hence I'm an Eclectic Wiccan. Further research into the personalities and mindset of those who created this religion has made it feel like my home. I just happen to add a few other things into my religious and personal philosophy such as an anal adherence to a code of honor.
I started this whole thing in March of 2006, shortly after recording GIG Cast. It left me yearning for intelligent theological discussion/debate with other Pagans that I had so missed in the Pagan Group at Clarion University at that time. After learning that Ashlee had a narcissistic personality and Amber was all up for podcasting, I grabbed everyone together and met in front of a TV in the Gemmell Student Complex at Clarion. Having no plans, we picked a random cool-looking room, set up our equipment and began recording a skit because others wanted a skit. A hour of work produced the now infamous "Yes, I GOT ONE!" skit and the following 3 hours produced Episodes 1 and 2 of PCP (which didn't have a name until 5 minutes into the first episode, thanks Terry).
What was supposed to be a resurrection of old-time Pagan Study (before it became all sexual and fluffy) has since ballooned beyond our wildest dreams with over 300 routine listeners from Texas to Iraq, Mexico to Europe. We have apparently started something. I claim that we started the trend of blunt and honest Pagan Podcasting. No political correctness, no university regulations - just our thoughts and opinions, uncensored (for the most part).
Hell, I don't know. I never know where this show is going, but it's great to work with a bunch of dedicated people always willing to change and make things better. I never expected us to get more than 25 listeners and I thought it'd be great to match an attendance record of 50-70. To have 300 on a weekly basis (and it keep increasing too!) is just… amazing!
I don't foresee us going commercial (who'd want to sponsor us with what we say? :D), so as long as the ego stroking continues and we're all able to do this, we'll probably stay on the air.
